I met an artist named Shohreh in a bookstore the other day, quite by chance. She showed me some of her work, which is very bold and powerful, and when I asked what inspired her, this is what she said:
"I use plexiglass in my art, and I used to go to a local home improvement store and these guys would cut the plexiglass for me, but the last time I went there, this guy wouldn't do it for me. So I drove to Home Depot and I bought a table saw and I said, `To hell with them. I'm a handiwoman, I'll cut my own plexiglass. ' No' inspires me."
